I believe that organic cotton is very beneficial especially in todays society. Individuals must start to consider this clothing product and as a future designer I know I will be using organic cotton in production of my clothes

Great article. You should also add the affects of over using the land for cotton growing. Cotton can be very harsh on land sucking up the nutrients in the soil. Farmers compensate this issue by increasing the amount of fertilizer applied. Chemical fertilizers increase the salinity of the soil, thereby increasing the need for water. Another thing to add is that organic farmers use organic and natural fertilizers to grow crops. These natural fertilizers increase the organic composition of the soil and restores it\'s health.

I know from first hand that organic cotton clothing is a great way to naturally alleviate some skin conditions.

That is an easy call since conventional methods of cotton production use such harsh chemicals.

I have heard some varying numbers on the amount, but everyone agrees the chemicals just are bad for the earth and us.

\"Traditional cotton production also attributes to 25% of worldwide insecticide use and 10% of worldwide pesticide use.\"
