Coconut oil and itchy skin

Hi.

I have started to use organic raw virgin coconut oil on my skin as well as ingesting it.
I put it in my tea. At first I became very sick from it. I felt nauseated and had diarrea for 2 days. I assume that I have had some sort of a die off thing or a cleansing going on. I found that If I eat some White Chia seed before the coconut oil then I have no problems at all ingesting it.
The problem that I am having now (and from the beginning) and Im not sure if it is common or not is: When I apply it to my skin it makes me feel itchy and prickly all over my skin. Its not unbearable but it is annoying. I think it is some sort of a die off again. Do you agree? It also makes my skin red like I\'ve been slapped. I have been using the oil for about a month and Im going to keep using it in hopes that this issue will go away. Have you heard of this issue at all?

It sounds like you might have an allergy to coconut oil...I have multiple food allergies, and usually anything that makes my skin red and itchy when applied means an allergy.

You might want to try another anti-candida treatment like Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) or Oil of Oregano or Olive Leaf Extract.

Good luck!

antifungal drugs usually clear up the trouble, but the infection may reoccur, sometimes as a result of reinfections by a sexual partner.Treatment of both partners is preferable.people with tendency to skin candidiasis should keep the skin as dry as possible and women who take birth control pills and suffer from candidiasis should consider changing method of birth control.

Hi,

Here in Argentina there is no virgin oil available, so I am happy to get at least the refined. I would like to know if it make sense still to take 3 tbl sp a day of the refined oil against my oral thrush Ofcourse I also eat raw coconut.

Been using virgin coconut oil for about a week now and I also get itchy anywhere I put it on my skin.

I don\'t why this is, as I seem fine eating it, so it doesnt seem like an allergic reaction.
