karen McWhorter  - Is lemon oil alkalizing in drinking water?   |2009-10-11 23:28:23
I know that lemon juice in drinking water [1 teaspoon in 8 oz. of water] is alkalizing. Does anyone know what
the ratio would be for lemon oil? Is lemon oil as good for alkalizing as lemon juice?
herblady  - Lemon ph   |2009-09-16 12:01:37
Lemon is in fact acidic 2.4-.36 pH when applied externally... however it is alkaline producing when used
internally... skin pH is 5.5 so adding lemon to a product for your face to make sure it is acid...which is
what protects us externally... is good... and drinking it to produce an alkaline environment internally for
health 7.0 or above is excellent as well.

Lemons is an alkaline-- its definetly not acidic-- for this reason lemon is great as a drink as it alkalines
the body & apart from alkalining the body its also very rich in Vitamin C. Ive never used lemon oil though,
but do believe that the same benefits would apply & maybe more so due to its concentrated form. The reason why
base oils is used is because essentail oils is highly concentrated & can be dangerous if 2 much applied --
the skin is breathing and everything applied to the skin must also be processed by our organ-- all essential
oils not properly used can have dangerous implications..

Back to lemon-- I reckon that all diseases comes
from an acid imbalance in the body-- 2 much acid is detremental to your healt and still we consume food
everyday thats acidic (meat, potatoes, oils, fats, cheeses, coffee, etc)

Apart from just our eating habits,
everyday stress also contribute further to the forming of acid.. Therefore I would recommend to everyone to at
least drink warm water with fresh lemon squeezed into it in the morning and throughout the day--- ist very
refreshing, energising and cleansing-- it also alkaline the body--- make sure you use ample lemon in your
salads cooking--- Drink plenty water (cold/warm) with lemon squeezed in it---

This is a very healthy
habit--- In stead of ordering a coffee or tea when at restaurant-- why not ask the waiter for warm water
--topped with a little cold water (to make it drinkable) and a few skices of lemon in it--- iTS GREAT & ITS

jimmy santos  - does lemon oil cure acute gout?i   |2009-06-23 08:07:54
i have a very high uric acid and it seems my body retains it.would lemon oil cures and washes away the uric
acid in my body?
Ben   |2009-07-22 23:19:21
Yes, you should squeeze a fresh lemon juice and drink it in water all day long. I drink about 2.5 liters of
water/day.
Also, lemon juice in warm water and a bit of honey upon rising in the morning.....will get you
started on the right track.......
Take the time....it is worth it, you are worth it. Remember to wash the
lemons well prior to cutting them.

is lemon oil good for the face, and if yes do it burn the face for a few minutes. also can you use it on a
black woman permed hair for dandruff.
amy  - good for face?   |2009-09-01 09:43:53
I just purchased some lemon oil and the directions specified that it is not safe to use directly on the face,
however, unless mixing w/ a base oil or I think w/ water. I assume a base oil is something like olive oil or
something not categorized as an essential oil. Since lemons are more acidic I would assume this could be
potent if used in too big of portions so just be cautious....and, its probably best used on acne.
Seth  - Face   |2009-09-07 20:12:54
Lemon is alkaline. That is why it helps with acne, etc. because it dries it out. Too much and you are burning
your face.

The point of the lemon oil for skin problems is to cut the grease, kill bacteria and unblock the
pores. Same with the dandruff problem. It is an antiseptic for the bacteria.

You can mix it with rose water
(Google it).
Jamila Ali  - Lemon juice for the face   |2009-10-22 00:10:03
When I was a teen I had extremely oily skin. I used lemon juice from fresh lemons to cleanse my face (like an
astringent) this worked well. It did burn sometimes but kept my skin dryer then if I had not used it. My skin
never had acne or bumps it is still beautiful today at 55yrs old. Only thing aging has naturally dryed it and
I don't need lemons anymore.
Seth  - H2O2 + Lemon Juice   |2009-09-07 20:17:03
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has had experience with Lemon Juice (or Lemon Oil in water) and H2O2 as a
beverage. 4 drops of 35% Peroxide per 8 oz. juice.

I prefer the taste of cool water with lemon juice
(concentrate) with no sugar/honey and it is a good opportunity to put some peroxide in.
gina  - sensatizing to skin   |2009-09-23 23:03:41
Lemon oil can make your skin sensative to sun, so after application, wait about 4 hrs before going out into
sun. I forgot this one time after applying to a blemish and when I went outside, that area turned into a red
hot splotch (lots of blood vessels came to the surface and enlarged).

I like to dilute it with olive oil
for face and scalp treatment. Also look at rosemary for your hair and scalp.
