Organic Milk has More CLA

More Conjugated Linoleic Acid: Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) increases metabolic rate, immunity to diseases and muscle growth. It also reduces abdominal fat, cholesterol, and allergic reactions. It is worth noting that human body cannot produce this substance and most of our CLA intake happens through the milk and milk products that we consume.

Now, you will be surprised to know that cows that are grazed on pastures produce 500% more CLA in their milk than cows that are fed fodder. This definitely calls for preference to organic milk over non-organic milk. Recent animal studies have shown that conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is beneficial in cancer treatment and this has further increased people's interest in organic milk.

Its most definately worth it. I spend 10 dollars a gallon for my raw,grass-fed milk. I would never think of paying $3 a gallon for garbage.

I've actually heard that milk from grass-fed cows contains more CLA. According to the brand of yogurt I buy, it can contain up to 5 times as much as milk from grain-fed cows. So organic alone might not be the most important factor to consider. Of course, most companies that care enough to use grass-fed cows will make products that are organic as well, so it's the best of both worlds!

I am no expert on this but a lactophile (with a belly to show for too!) I believe what this article suggests is that organic milk does help in burning belly-fat by increasing the metabolism (food burning capacity). It definitely would help burn the flab!!!

I am a milk addict. I can't help but sometime drink almost a full gallon of non-fat milk a day and have a belly to show for all the sugars! I'm wondering if I switch to organic, with it having more CLA, will that actually reduce abdominal fat as mentioned here? Or should it be interpreted as, "it contributes to less abdominal fat than non-organic milk?" If the former is true (it actually in effet reduces abdominal fat), then I am completely sold and will pay the $5 - $6/gal in lieu of the other non-organic that I buy 2 at a time for a subsidized discount (2 gal = $5).
