Coconut Oil Tablets are one of the latest forms of consumption of coconut oil.
Coconut Oil Tablets are the heights of man’s creativity! Who has ever wondered that a day will come when he will not have to take the pain to pour coconut oil out of those cans or bottles; neither will he have to scoop it out in winters? Oil! And that too in tablets! Yes! It is true. Coconut Oil Tablets has made this dream come true. It is a different issue that they have certain disadvantages. Let us know more about these tablets;
- How do they look? These tablets are not like those hard coated/uncoated white, bitter tablets. They are like soft gel chewable tablets with concentrated coconut oil coated in animal or synthetic gelatin.
- How do they taste? This is undoubtedly one of the best features of coconut oil tablets. They taste and smell good when the outer gelatinous coating dissolve.
- Their types? These tablets can be based on pure coconut oil, refined coconut oil, virgin coconut oil or organic coconut oil (this one is doubted, as after so much processing, nothing is hardly left organic). They may or may not come with other herbal extracts or drugs.
- What are the advantages? The best advantage of these tablets is that they are handy, very portable, time saving and very easily manageable. About the advantages regarding their effect on health, they are good for providing energy, boosting immunity, counter free radicals and effects of oxidation, fight infections and to aid absorption of fat soluble vitamins and medicines. But then that can also be done by any other form of coconut oil, the best being the liquid pure coconut oil. So, frankly speaking, these coconut oil tablets do not have any advantage over normal coconut oil which can be written about.
- What are the disadvantages? Disadvantages? There are many! First of all, these tablets are very costly and an average adult person needs to gulp down really a handful of them to meet his/her daily requirements (Why should one when one can easily do so by simply taking 2-3 spoonfuls of coconut oil?). So, they are very heavy on pocket. Then, about their usefulness. These tablets can never match the goodness of coconut oil, as they are highly processed and robbed much of their volatile micronutrients, vitamins and that sweet, natural, organic touch during processing. Further, you can neither use it to massage your body, nor can you use it on your hair and nor can fry anything in it. In fact, they are good for nothing else than swallowing and therapeutic uses. They can only be taken orally. There is also a doubt about the shelf life of these tablets.
- Where are they available? They are not at all popular in India and the Indian Subcontinent where pure coconut oil is available in plenty and people prefer sticking to natural, traditional ways. Moreover, the life is not so busy or hectic here. If you are residing in an Indian metropolitan city, they you can look for them in some big drug store or departmental shop. The scene is bit different in European countries where raw coconut oil is not easily available and they have to depend on alternative ways. Still, since there are very few manufacturers of these tablets, they are scarcely available in those countries too.
- What to do then? The best bet would be that if you are easily getting pure or virgin coconut oil, then do not go for these tablets. They are okay only if you are left with no other choice.
Conclusion: The coconut oil tablets may be innovative, good looking and handy, but they are no good when compared to pure coconut oil. Comparing these tablets with coconut oil will be like comparing original painting of Monalisa with its photocopies. So, that’s that. The choice is, as usual, yours.
