Information on Organic Baby Care
Give you baby the best, the total Organic Baby Care

Every baby is the best baby in the world for his or her parents and so undoubtedly, deserves the best care. And again, without any doubts, I can say that Organic Baby Care is the best care you can give your baby, because it is the safest care. The term “Baby Care” is not new for you parents, but “Organic Baby Care” certainly is. Let me tell you more about this.

• Organic Baby Care: Actually, the term “Organic Baby Care” should be correctly read as “Baby’s Organic Care”. This means, taking care of your baby with the help of organic products or organically and give him or her as much organic touch as you can. The new born are very sensitive to everything around them and anything harsh can cause damage to them. This is not only applicable for or limited to only what your baby wears, but also to what he or she eats, drinks, breathes in, touches and sees. Since your baby is one of the best creations of Mother Nature, so he or she must be in touch of her as long as possible. Now let me enlist the possibilities and scopes of using the organic baby care products in decreasing order of hierarchy of their necessity towards your baby.

• Organic Air Fresheners/Repellants/Disinfectants/Scents: Guess what your baby needs first right after he or she is born. Yes! It is pure air to breathe in. Although most of the hospitals supply them with oxygen rich air right after they are born until their lungs and other respiratory organs are strong enough to withstand the normal (better say polluted) air outside. So, when your baby is brought home, it becomes your duty to provide the best possible organic atmosphere for him or her. For this, you can do a little preparation earlier. If possible and if you have a space for garden, plant it with such plants which release a lot of oxygen, and perhaps some roses or sweet smelling flowering plants. This way, you baby will get a fresh and fragrant oxygen rich air. Else, you can at least avoid using synthetic spray mists or air fresheners or such products. Use their organic versions. Do never use mosquito or other insect repellants. The deadly poisonous chemicals used in them can make an adult ill, leave aside the babies. Better use mosquito nets for your baby and yourself. Organic herbal insect repellants are also available in the market. Use them if you have no other choice. This is something you should do to give your baby an Organic Baby Care. The good thing about maintaining an organic atmosphere at home is that you need not go to the market.

• Organic Baby Foods: The thing your baby needs next to a pure air to breathe is the pure food. Here again, nothing can be better for him or her than an Organic Baby Food. Let us start with mothers milk first. It is the first food for your baby and is the most effective one. Its effects can be seen on your baby’s whole life. In a single word, it is the elixir of life for your baby. So, this should be free from all adversities. You know very well that the baby gets what the mother eats. So, we need to be careful about this. If she is taking a lot of synthetic foods or those with chemical preservatives, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavours etc. then these chemicals are bound to get into the baby’s body with her milk. So, she must avoid them and should try to follow organic diets as far as possible. Next are those foods which you buy for your baby. Check for the “Organic” tag on them. These Organic Baby Foods use cereals, milk etc. which are raised organically, no artificial flavours or preservatives or sweeteners are added to them and they are packed organically. Sugar, although being a natural sweetener and added to most of the baby foods, need not be necessarily organic. So, make sure that each component of the baby food you buy is organic. These baby foods form an integral part of Organic Baby Care.

• Organic Baby Beddings: It is the bed where your baby rests most of the time and so, but obvious, it should be organic. Organic Baby Beddings are those baby beddings which use organic material such as organic cotton, organic wool and organic rubber which are processed organically. Further, they use absolutely nil or negligible artificial colours (and even if they do, those are not harsh for the baby skin). There are various certifying agencies who certify these beddings as organic. Just check for their seal or certificate when you buy these beddings. The advocates of organic baby care must go for these beddings.

• Organic Baby Clothes: The things which your baby’s skin remains in contact with most of the time are your baby’s clothes. No doubt, they should be organic when you are giving your baby an organic care. Apart from the regular dresses, you may also count the organic baby blankets, organic baby towels, organic baby warm-dresses etc. under this category. Once again, the dress material used in these dresses must be natural and organic, such as organic cotton, organic wool, organic flux, organic rubber etc. and should not contain any artificial chemical bleach, colours, flavours etc. Organic baby clothes must be given very much importance if you are really serious about organic baby care.

• Organic Baby Cosmetics: First of all, let me tell you that try to use as fewer cosmetics on your baby as possible. Your baby can do well without baby talcum powders (It is highly recommended to avoid them, because their particles, no matter how organic they are, are bound to get into the baby’s respiratory tracts and your baby can suffer from severe cough, allergenic asthma etc.), baby soaps (Soap often leaves the skin dry and they cannot be made without chemicals. Lukewarm water added with some organic disinfectant is more than good) etc. But, there are some cosmetics which are indispensable for the baby, for example, baby oils, lotions etc. Totally avoid petroleum based products. Go only for the organic natural oils such almond oil, olive oil etc. and lotions based on these oils, containing organic essential oils etc. They are very good for your baby.

• Organic Baby Toys: Well! To be frank, the age group of babies we are talking about (those who need baby beddings and baby foods etc.), can hardly enjoy the toys. The toys are as good as any other coloured or moving object in their vicinity. So, it is always better not to keep any toys near them because they are in the habit of putting everything in their mouth, and it can be harmful for them, be the toy organic or otherwise. There is one more fact. You will hardly find an organic toy. The materials (predominantly plastics, cotton wastes, sponges, rubber etc.) and the bright colours used in them are hardly organic. So, it is better to keep your baby away from them. Even if you find a so-claimed organic toy, please keep it at a safe distance from your child.

• Organic Baby Medicines: Once again, the medicines, apart from the herbal medicines, can hardly be organic. They cannot help but being artificially. They contain nothing but chemical compounds, serving as medicines for us. So, forget about finding an organic allopathic medicine. If you are so much into organic baby care, they go for the organic herbal medicines (of course, when prescribed by the doctor).

• Add-ons: There are a lot more organic products that can be used when you want to give your baby an organic baby care, and lot depends on your innovativeness also.

• Off-Keepers: If anything is there that keeps you off these organic baby care products, then that is their price. Their prices can make your pocket or wallet as light as feather.

So, try to follow an organic way of life. Eat organic, drink organic and live organic and your baby will automatically get an organic care.
