Insurance For WWOOFing Print E-mail

WWOOFing involves doing physical labor on organic farms. Hence it is always advisable to get an insurance cover for yourself on your WWOOFing expeditions. A comprehensive health and accident insurance is always helpful in times of need.

Some hosts do not accept a WWOOFer without an insurance cover which is valid in their country. You have to show a proof of insurance cover along with your membership card to these hosts. Hence you should always check with the host the type of insurance he/she demands before knocking the host’s door.

Further since other WWOOF organizations also think that insurance is important for volunteers, a voluntary organization named OV Europa has been set up to provide insurance for WWOOFers in Europe.

In some countries such as Mexico, an insurance cover is not a requirement for WWOOFing. One of them is Mexico. However, WWOOF Mexico recommends you to purchase an insurance cover.
