WWOOF Nepal is among the newly formed WWOOF organizations. It started its operations in July 2003 with the initiative of Mr. Fanindra Datta Regmi.
WWOOF Nepal coordinates WWOOFing activities in the majestic Himalayas. WWOOFing in Nepal offers an experience much different than the one obtained in developing countries. However, WWOOF Nepal not just aims at providing WWOOFing opportunities to WWOOFers in Nepal, but also encourages organic farming in the country. WWOOF Nepal, through the visionary guidance of Mr. Regmi is educating Nepalese farmers about organic farming practices.
WWOOF Nepal also enables the farmers of Nepal, which is a land locked country, get exposure of the world outside. WWOOFers from all around the world have visited organic farms in Nepal through WWOOF Nepal.
If you want to do WWOOFing in Nepal, you have to become a member of WWOOF Nepal, which will send you a list of host registered with it. The membership fee for WWOOF Nepal is 30$ for one person and 40$ for a couple. This membership is valid for a period of one year, after which you will be sent the new host booklet if you renew your membership. You should be at least 16 years in age to become a member of WWOOF Nepal. If you want to bring your kids along with you, do take prior permission from the host.
You can WWOOF in Nepal with a tourist visa. The tourist visa is valid for a period of 60 days. However, this can be extended further. But, do keep in mind that you cannot stay in Nepal for more than 5 months at a stretch. Like most WWOOF organizations, WWOOF Nepal does not provide any assistance in getting a visa.
