WWOOF USA coordinates the wwoofing activities in the US. When you become a member of WWOOF USA, you will get access to a list of over 500 host farms registered with the organization. You can shortlist hosts based on the description of their farm given in the book and contact them to check their availability.

WWOOFing in USA gives WWOOFers an opportunity to learn various aspects of organic farming including learning how to grow organic vegetables, fruits, flowers, building bee keeping and straw bale structures, and managing organic dairy operations.

You can become a member of WWOOF USA by filling up the application form given on its website. The membership fee for WWOOF USA is $20 for a single person and $30 for a couple. The membership is valid for a period of one year. You have to renew it again if you want to extend it.

Like many other WWOOF organizations, WWOOF USA has an age limit criteria. Membership to WWOOF USA is open to WWOOFers who are above the age of 18 years. Children should be accompanied by legal guardians during wwoofing.

WWOOF USA has organized host farms into four categories, based on their location -the Western Region, the Central region, the Northeast region, and the Southeast and US Territory Region. States included in these regions are:

WWOOF USA Western Region: Alaska, Arizona, California-southern, California-northern, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming

WWOOF USA Northeast Region: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont

WWOOF USA Central Region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin

WWOOF USA Southeast Region and US Territory: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Virginia, West Virginia, US Virgin Islands

Please note that when you become a member of WWOOF USA, you are can also wwoof in Hawaii and in US Virgin Islands!
