It is widely considered that limes are unripe lemons. They belong to the same citrus family but differ in taste and flavor. Unripe lemons when allowed to ripen on the tree turn yellow in color. Limes have more sugar and citric acid in them as compared to lemons. Lemons are also sour in taste.
