Hibiscus tea can induce labor if consumed in the third trimester. Ensure that you do not drink it in any early stages as it can lead to abortion. At such a crucial time in your life, ask your doctor or midwife before making even minute changes in your diet.

Usually you can have it if you cross your expected date of delivery but only in limited amounts

They say that hibiscus tea has “emmenagogue effects” which means that it is good for better menstruation flow and inducing labor. It is best to avoid this drink during early pregnancy until third trimester. You can have a few cups at the later stage of pregnancy so that you can have a smooth labor. But the wisest thing to do would be to talk to your gynac. After all its not about you but another life within you!
