One can consume almost two to three Brazil nuts per day to control thyroid. These nuts are a rich source of selenium, which is an important mineral that acts as an antioxidant to balance the thyroid function. Eating a few nuts on a daily basis is sufficient for a daily dose of selenium, but one must consume it moderately, or it could lead to selenium toxicity and cause fatigue and an upset stomach.

I was detected of thyroid a few months ago. The doc told me that I lack selenium and therefore he started giving me selenium supplements. I took those for a few days but I do not like taking medicines and therefore I tried to search for some alternative. I found out that brazil nuts provide good amount of selenium. In order to match the amount to my selenium supplements.. I take 2 brazil nuts daily.. since past two months I have been using it.. I think it has shown some good effect.. I hope in a few more months my condition will further improve.
