The University of Michigan Health System has recommended to infuse 1 cup of water with 1-2 teaspoons of hibiscus powder to make the healthful beverage. Drink 500 ml of hibiscus a day before your breakfast to treat hypertension.

I dont know about hibiscus tea, but green tea served as an better option for my diabetes.
