The basil leaves are to be removed from the stem and blanched in boiling water for 10 seconds. The leaves are then transferred to an ice bath. Once this is done, the leaves are to be dried off and stored in a freezer-safe container by separating the layers on parchment paper.

You can avoid dust falling on it by keep it in a closed cool area or even in water.

Its just like how you try to make the flowers look fresh you keep them in a jar of water so same way you also can keep those leaves in water
