Firstly, boil water in a pan or kettle. Add tamarind paste to a separate bowl and add lime if needed. Add the boiled water to the tamarind paste and sprinkle sugar or honey. Allow it to rest for 4-5 hours or overnight. Strain the water out of the bowl in a bottle or a pan, and then add some more water and honey or sugar to strain the pulp again. Refrigerate the tamarind juice and serve chilled.

It is not that difficult to make tamarind juice at home.I just used tamarind paste and mixed it with warm water. Kept the mixture for about 30 minutes and strained the mixture. Tada – Tamarind juice was ready!
I found it a bit concentrated for my taste so had to add some more water. You can dilute it or keep the juice as is depending on your taste!
