Ylang ylang essential oil has a very sweet and soothing aroma. The major reason why people use it for relieving their depression is because its scent helps your body release dopamine in your brain. You can just blend it in a carrier oil and rub on your chest for a calming effect before sleeping. Works really good!

There is an aromatherapist living in the neighbourhood and she suggested using ylang ylang essential oil in a diffuser for uplifting my spirits when I was feeling too low because my husband has moved to India for 2 years for his business. It was a tough ride parenting alone. Although John was with me but the physical void took a toll on me as I had to look for everything from the kids to the house. I met Diana while I was walking my dog one evening and we got to talking and I would visit her often then. Her learnings from aromatherapy sounded so amusing to me that I started meeting her more to feel positive. It is wonderful how we are meant to meet people that can make our journey of life less painful and more joyful.
