  • I am a huge fan of red wine, particularly merlot. And they say that red wine is actually healthy for everyone. But I am sure there has to be a certain limit to the drinking, can anyone help with that please?

Merlot is packed with antioxidants, especially if it is organic. Great health is based on keeping everything in balance. Merlot is low in sugar. (Yah!) I use this analogy when giving speeches on health. More is not better. Salmon is good for you. But eating 20 fish a day is not better for you than one fish. 20 fish would overwhelm the body’s digestive system. The same is true for wine. More is not better. One glass is excellent. Two is pushing the limits. Three is too much because wine contains alcohol and the potential damage that accompanies consuming too much alcohol outweighs the benefits of the antioxidants. Great health is based in balance. I hope this response is helpful. Enjoy your wine.

I used to drink two glasses of wine every evening. I shall now try to limit it to one before I start damaging my system. It was indeed good to receive health tips from you. Thank you so much.
