Yes, artichoke is an excellent liver detoxifying substance due to its phytonutrients: silymarin and cynarin. Moreover, cynarin being an antioxidant keeps the liver healthy and promotes its bile production. Silymarin, being a flavonoid protects the liver cells and the cell membranes. Artichoke also shields the liver from hepatotoxicity and detrimental effects of processed foods, alcohol, and pollutants. Also, the antioxidant activity of artichokes helps fight liver inflammation.

Most definitely, artichokes help in detoxifying the liver and provide a number of nutrients that improve overall body function as well. When making food with the goal of improving liver function I like to use both artichokes as well as tarragon as both of them are a killer combination.
