Boron is needed for optimum calcium metabolism to prevent excessive bone loss in postmenopausal women. Adequate dietary levels of boron decrease the calcium loss in individuals. Women with postmenopausal osteoporosis have a higher chance of undergoing this complication, and it can be managed by consuming supplements or foods which are high in boron.
