Cinnamon is classified as nontoxic to cats, but if a cat is exposed to a higher concentration of this essential oil, it can turn toxic. The skin of cats is very thin and can easily absorb cinnamon compounds present in essential oils, thereby contributing to cinnamon toxicity in cats. The symptoms may be sneezing, irritation, rashes, redness, and burns.
