Is vervain and blue vervain the same?

No, they are the two different species of vervain. Vervain (Verbena officinalis) has for long been used in western and oriental medicines and has restorative and tonic properties. Vervain grows in China, Japan, North African, and Europe. Unlike vervain, blue vervain (Verbena hastata) lacks any scent and is bitter. Blue vervain stimulates digestion, relieves tension, and increases breast milk production.
