Arugula causes cramps and discomfort. These effects are caused due to the presence of sulforaphane in arugula. Arugula contains vitamin K, which can cause blood clots when it counteracts with certain blood thinners. Arugula is rich in oxalic acid which has been conclusively associated with the formation of kidney stones.
