If consumed excessively, olive oil can cause respiratory allergy and when applied on skin, it can result in contact dermatitis or allergies in some people. Olive oil lowers blood sugar so diabetics should use it wisely. Pregnant women are advised to intake this oil only after talking to their doctor. Also, as it affects the blood sugar, people going for surgeries should consult their doctor and include this oil only after that.
