Vomiting, a runny nose, and abdominal pain are commonly observed side effects of red pepper especially in people unaccustomed to hot spice. The hottest of red peppers produce actual burning sensations, and it is due to this reason that they form a chief ingredient in pepper sprays. Its more serious disadvantages include liver and kidney damage.
