Alopecia areata’s primary symptom is hair loss. It causes patches of baldness on the head. This type of hair loss can be either temporary or permanent. It usually starts affecting people right from childhood or early adulthood although it can happen in any age group. Even patches of body hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes can get affected.
