I suffer from contact dermatitis and whenever I come in contact with any citrus fruit my skin turns red. It used to burn, get itchy and even swell. This was truly annoying situation. That’s when my doctor told me that I have severe allergies to citrus fruits.

My girl loves lemons. She loves to lick lime with salt. After months of continuous eating, her lips started to swell. I thought some bug bit her and ignored it for a few days but the reactions got worse. There was itching in throat and tongue and swelling of gums.
I rushed to the doctor. He told me she was suffering from Oral Allergy Symptom (OAS). She is allergic to citrus family fruits. I think the excess lemon intake had got her in this situation. He said that the cooked form of citrus fruits wouldn’t affect her but raw form should be avoided.
