Hemp oil is extracted from hemp seeds by pressing the processed seeds. The THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive chemical compound that is responsible for a euphoric sensation) component of hemp oil is minimal, which may cause paranoia or hallucinations like its cousin plant, marijuana. Unrefined hemp oil possesses a nutty flavor and is naturally dark in color; refined hempseed oil, however, is colorless.
