What is the difference between anise oil and anise extract?

Though anise oil and anise extract, can be used interchangeably, they are slightly different. Anise oil is mostly used for adding flavors and can be preserved indefinitely whenever stored in a dark and a cool place. Anise extract is a less concentrated flavoring, finding its use in baking bread and cakes.

Aren’t they one and the same? like when it comes to physical form both sound the same.
