Coriander is also known as cilantro and has light green leaves. It is used to garnish many dishes, especially South Asian and South East Asian cuisine. Coriander leaves lose their freshness as soon as they are removed from the plant. Italian parsley, on the other hand, has dark green leaves, and the slender stems are bitter as compared to the leaves. Italian parsley is widely used in European and American cuisine. The usage of both the herbs may depend on personal preferences.
