Taro root has a taste of its own while potato does not. Taro root is soft while potato has to be cooked to make it soft and edible. Taro root has a flaky texture but with less moisture content. Taro tends to become custardy when cooked, but no significant changes are seen in potato unless spices are added to it. You can experiment with the taste of potatoes as they don’t have a distinctive taste of their own.
