The leaves of verbena hastate or blue vervain are used for medicinal purposes. They can be used to make herbal tea through infusion in order to relieve a headache and sleep trouble. The leaves of blue vervain are also used to treat respiratory disorders such as chronic bronchitis, colds, sore throat, chest congestion, and respiratory inflammation. Moreover, they are also used to eliminate irritation and clear up tracts.
