Through donating blood, you can give somebody the gift of life. It ensures that blood banks have a constant supply of blood for patients with anemia, cancer, and other bleeding disorders. Individual components of the blood such as the plasma and red cells are also used for targeted medical conditions. The body replenishes itself by burning 650 calories with every pint.
