Sciatica is mainly responsible for the burning sensation, and in some cases, numbness and tingling in the buttocks and lower back. The pain may radiate and travel down to the legs and cause weakness. Burning pain in the buttocks could also be due to anal fissures present inside the anal canal. Even a small tear in the inner lining can result in tremendous pain.
