The most interesting health benefits of Ixeris Chinensis include its ability to prevent certain allergic reactions, improve vision health, lower cholesterol, help prevent certain types of cancer, and protect the immune system.

What is Ixeris Chinensis?

This little-known species of Asian flowers, which is a member of the Ixeris genus, has been covered in only a handful of academic papers and publications, but it has become a very important flower due to its unique organic composition, which includes lutein, chinensiolides, sitosterols, and many other important nutrients that can have significant effects on the body. The flowers are small and yellow, with many stellates, while the perennial varieties of this plant will produce achenes. There are approximately 60 species of Ixeris within the genus, but the Chinensis variety has received a great deal of attention. It can most commonly be found in nutritional supplement stores or herbal remedy distributors. [1]

It is still prepared traditionally in many parts of Asia and China and its impact on human health has made it a popular choice for the rest of the world too. It is a recent discovery, but it will likely continue to grow.

Health Benefits of Ixeris Chinensis

Let’s take a closer look at the health benefits of Ixeris chinensis.

Anticancer Potential

While research on Ixeris chinensis is somewhat limited, one of the more exciting studies has focused on the possible anti-proliferative effects of this flower. The conclusion of the research is that certain extracts from Ixeris chinensis are able to successfully cause apoptosis in cancerous cells, specifically those found in the liver. [2]

Antiviral Activity

There is also evidence that Ixeris chinensis has antiviral capabilities. Again, research has limited to a few different viral strains, but early results show that the extracts of this flower can inhibit the hepatitis B virus, which is a very common and highly dangerous virus around the world. [3]

Eye Care

One of the most potent chemicals found in Ixeris chinensis is lutein, which is most famous for its impact on eye health. It functions in an antioxidant role and can eliminate the free radicals that cause macular degeneration and speed the development of cataracts. Reducing the free radicals in the ocular system is the best way to improve and protect your sight as you age. [4]

Heart Disease

One of the other constituents of Ixeris chinensis is beta-sitosterol, which is a common chemical found in many plants. They can have a powerful effect on cholesterol levels in the body, meaning that they can balance “good” and “bad” cholesterol to protect you from atherosclerosis, strokes, and heart attacks, as well as general heart disease, which kills millions of people around the world each year. [5]

Word of Caution: While the potency and potential of this herbal remedy are impressive, it is important not to mix these supplements or extracts with other prescribed drugs for the conditions listed above, as certain combinations can be dangerous. Always consult a medical professional or a trained herbalist before adding Ixeris chinensis supplements to your health regimen. [6]
