How to Make Silver Needle Tea: Easy Recipe

Silver Needle tea is the simplest, most unusual,  and exquisite of teas. It is also known as Baihao Yinzhen tea, White China Tea or silver tip tea in most places.  They are made from the topmost, tender and downy buds of the tea bush. You can attempt to make this tea at home. Just follow these simple instructions.

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove, then set it aside for 4-5 minutes (ideal temperature is 170 degrees Fahrenheit).
    A pot of boiling water
  •  Add 4 teaspoons of the silver needle leaves to a tea infuser or teapot.
  • Pour the warm water over the leaves and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
  • Thereafter, strain the leaves and serve the tea warm.

Notes

Do not brew this tea with boiling water.
If you are using boiling water, it would be recommended to douse the leaves in a small amount of cold water before pouring the boiling water.
Do not add milk or sugar to this tea as it will hamper the flavor.
