Ingredients

  • 3-4 apples
  • 6-8 cups of water
  • 2-3 tea bags
  • 1-2 tsp of honey (optional)

Instructions

  • To make apple tea, peel and cube 3-4 apples of any variety, removing the cores.
  • Bring half a pot of water to boil (6-8 cups).
  •  Add the apples, as well as 2-3 tea bags, depending on the strength of tea you prefer.
  • Let it steep for 2-3 minutes, and then remove the tea bags.
  • Reduce to a simmer and add 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
  • Stir thoroughly and then cover.
  •  Allow the mixture to simmer for 2 hours over the stove.
  • Allow the tea to cool, then transfer it to teapot. Add water, if it is too strong. You can add a teaspoon of honey to each cup of tea to enhance its taste.

Notes

You can serve this tea immediately after preparing. However, many people like to drink it cold during summer as well. In that case, you can either serve it with ice or simply refrigerate it.
