Ingredients

  • 2-3 tbsp of psyllium seeds
  • 8 ounces of water
  • 1 tsp of honey (optional)

Instructions

  • To make laxative tea, crush 2-3 tablespoons of psyllium seeds into a powder.
  • Add this to 8 ounces of water and stir as the powder dissolves.
  • Drink this tea immediately, or the consistency will become much less pleasant. You can add a teaspoon of honey to the tea to enhance the taste if you prefer to do so.

Notes

You can use other herbs like rhubarb root, peppermint, cascara, oregano, grape root, aloe or buckhorn bark tea to make laxative teas. You can also make a refreshing iced tea variant of the same, by adding ice cubes and a slice of lime. Additionally, ensure you wash all utensils, pots, kettles and strainers that you will be using to make the tea, with baking soda or soap, to remove the old residue, and mineral deposits, if present. This will ensure that the taste of the tea is not compromised.
