There are a number of regular nutrients that can counter the effects of dry eyes, including those found in flaxseed, such as omega-3 fatty acids. Although most people think of omega-3s for protecting heart health and balancing cholesterol levels, these “good” fats actually work to reduce inflammation and promote normal function of the body. Some causes of dry eyes include certain chronic diseases or ongoing conditions, which those omega-3s can protect against. Flaxseed oil is easy to find in health food stores and can be mixed with fruit juices or water, or even mixed in with your meals.
