Ginger Root

by Meenakshi Nagdeve last updated -

Acid reflux can be an annoying and painful condition, but an easy fix is ginger root, which has the ability to soothe inflammation and relieve heartburn very quickly. Firstly, it helps to improve digestion, thereby ensuring that food is absorbed properly and excess acid doesn’t build up. The various relaxant and anti-spasmodic properties of ginger also help stop the acid from rising back up towards the esophagus by controlling the muscles. Finally, ginger itself actually absorbs stomach acid and speeds the digestive process to prevent gas build-up.
