Although this may not be the most commonly used technique for eliminating anxiety, it just may be the most effective. Kava-kava, scientifically known as Piper methysticum, is packed with neuroprotective, anti-convulsant, sedative and anti-inflammatory properties, making it incredibly good for the symptoms of anxiety and heightened stress levels. It can be used to stop the constant flow of neurotransmitters, essentially reducing the “clutter” of your mind temporarily, and allowing you to rest and relax. The effect that it has on hormones also makes it a great remedy for the anxiety often felt during menopause.
