Lavender oil is a widely used remedy for many conditions, but it shows particular promise on skin ailments or inflammatory problems. In the case of a bad bruise, you can gently apply lavender oil on the site 1-2 times each day for relief. Lavender is packed with linoleic acids, which act as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant substances in the body. This can also stimulate bloodflow to the site of the wound, which means faster healing of the blood vessels. Lavender oil can be dabbed onto the site of the bruise with a cotton ball; it is quite potent, so only a small amount is required.
