To boost the strength of the immune system, many people turn to proteins and calories, assuming that food in general will increase energy levels to “fight off” and illness. However, there are some forms of protein, such as red meat, that shouldn’t be consumed when your immune system is compromised. Lean meat, however, delivers a great amount of protein, without the additives, hormones, antibiotics and potentially dangerous sugars that can confuse and disrupt the immune system. Choose lean meat like poultry or fish to give your immune system support.
