Lemon

Lemons and other citrus fruits contain very powerful organic acids, many of which are beneficial to our overall health. In terms of whooping cough, the citric acid of lemons is able to cut through the thick phlegm and mucus in the respiratory tracts and lungs, thereby allowing you to breath better, and also heal faster. Mucus and phlegm is where bacteria can reside and spread, but by breaking up that material and expectorating (coughing), you can eliminate the infection much quicker. Squeezing a half lemon into a glass of water once or twice a day can show rapid results in treating whooping cough.
