There is a significant amount of evidence that meditation can work wonders if you are suffering from insomnia. The reason that many people suffer from insomnia is an overactive sympathetic nervous system. Research has shown that meditation, either guided or personal, can significantly reduce the arousal of your nervous system, thus helping you get a more restful night’s sleep. Meditation, even as little as twenty minutes a day, can give your body and mind time to reverse the biochemical and physiological effects of chronic stress, thus giving you restful sleep!
