Although most people associate oatmeal baths with the treatment of chicken pox, it is an effective remedy for many skin conditions, including dermatitis. The organic compounds released from oatmeal when it is soaked in water can soothe irritation and reduce inflammation on the areas affected by dermatitis. Simply mix a few cups of oatmeal into your bathwater and soak in the mixture for 20-30 minutes. While this isn’t a permanent fix for dermatitis, it can certainly relieve some of the discomfort associated with this common condition.
