A particularly popular remedy for sore throats involves the use of peppercorn, and while pepper is often considered an irritant, considering that it makes you sneeze, it is actually quite anti-inflammatory by nature. You can crush a few peppercorns, mix them with milk and drink this each morning to keep your throat soothed all day. Another option is to simply mix the crushed peppercorns with water and gently gargle with this mixture each day. The active ingredient of peppercorn, piperine, is what provides these anti-inflammatory properties.
