Pomegranates are exotic and delicious fruits that serve many different purposes. In the treatment of bladder infections, both the leaves and fruit can be used. The unique chemical composition of pomegranates, including its active ingredients, phytoestrogens and other antioxidant compounds, combine to improve the health of the kidneys and eliminate the bacterial infection that is likely causing the symtpoms of interstitial cystitis. Pomegranate juice can be drunk, the fruit can be eaten raw, or the pomegranate leaves can be made into a decoction and consumed.
