There are many different ways to improve the balance of cholesterol in your body, but increasing omega-3 intake is probably the best strategy. Oily fish like salmon are wonderful and delicious sources of omega-3s, the “good” types of cholesterol that our body actually needs to function normally. By increasing your omega-3s and decreasing your omega-6s, you can prevent the onset of hyperlipidemia, or correct the problem once it develops. Fish oil supplements can deliver the same effects, if you’ve never considered yourself a big fish eater!
