Yogurt

Since diverticulitis is often caused by a bacterial infection or an imbalance of bacteria in the gut, yogurt is an extremely reliable natural remedy. Yogurt contains live bacteria cultures called probiotics, which are the “good” bacteria that our stomachs need for proper digestion. Yogurt can therefore act as an anti-inflammatory substance that also rebalance the bacterial battle, speeding the elimination of pathogens. Yogurt mixed with fresh fruit, such as papayas or pears, can be doubly effective in the treatment of diverticulitis and other inflammatory conditions.
