Organic products have labels on the packing stating that the product is organic. Do ensure there are logos of the certification body that has issued the organic label. If the product just mentions organic or certified organic, do ask the shopkeeper about the certifying body.

Legally, there are restrictions on using the word organic in many countries, however, some people do manage to un-certified products in the marketplace.

Moreover, each certifying body follows its own set of standards. Hence you should check the credibility of the certifying body that has granted the organic seal when you buy organic food.
